Each piece has so much love poured into it

Neelam’s first encounter with fashion label Say Paloma was love at first sight, “You know when you see clothes that look like they were plucked from your dreams?”. It’s not surprising then that the majority of garments in Neelam’s shoot are from Maria’s little shop on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield. With close connections to a family in India, Maria sources antique sarees and recycles them into stunning new designs. “It’s such a beautiful and ethical way of recycling the sarees and each piece has so much love poured into it. I don’t connect with a lot of the Indian culture I grew up around, but the clothing (and food) is something that speaks to my soul and I try and weave the rich palates into my everyday wardrobe with small accessories or striking statement pieces.”
